About the Role

Trojan Technologies is seeking a skilled Prototype/Piloting Specialist to join our Innovation and Technology department located in London, Ontario. As a Prototype/Piloting Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and building Piloting test systems and prototypes to support New Product development and Technology development initiatives. You will work on-site and will be required to travel periodically to participate in pilot setups and field verification activities.

This role will be apart of our Innovation and Technology department, located in London, ON and will be onsite with up to 15% travel across North America.

In This Role You Will:

  • Coordinate, Design, and Build equipment for Piloting and prototyping, carrying out assignments of substantial variety and/or complexity requiring a sound understanding of related engineering or scientific theory, principles, and practices
  • Perform bench-scale and pilot-scale water treatment tests (100% onsite lab work)
  • Develop operating, maintenance and test procedures based on laboratory standards and safety policies
  • Utilize best practice use of VES tools & techniques such as Daily Management, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Project Management, Problem Solving, Kaizens, etc.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and components
  • Prepares purchase and material requisitions. Recommends solutions to observed test problems
  • Participate in piloting and field verification

The Essential Requirements of The Job Include:

  • Graduate in engineering/applied science technology
  • 5 years of relevant experience in electrical/mechanical engineering
  • Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a Technology development team strong analytical and hands-on skills
  • Experience with Process piping, Electronics/Controls Troubleshooting, Project Management, considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in using SolidWorks or other CAD software and strong computer skills is an asset
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
