Position: Network and System Adminstrator
Purpose: Reporting directly to the IT Manager, this position will maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair many facets of our computer systems. This position will be responsible for security and user profiles across our network. The Network and System Administrator will be responsible for implementing capital projects that pertain to the network. They will give support and guidance to the IT Technician.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning, installation and management of physical servers, virtual machines and network storage devices
- Manage all virtual servers (including email, print, backup, file servers, domain controllers) and their associated operating systems and software
- Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, vlans, wi-fi networks, and firewalls
- Monitor IT Systems and maintain patch levels on all firmware, server operating systems and software
- Analyze and review system capacity and performance, and relocate or resize virtual instances as required
- Maintain system security, configure and monitor backups for all systems
- Plan, document and test disaster recovery procedures
- Provide front line user support, prioritize and resolve issues as they arise.
- Order network hardware and software, and maintain inventory documentation of the hardware, software and licenses
- Provide on-call after hours support as needed. There may be times when the employee is required to be on-site and/or at the warehouse after hours
- Other duties as required to support the business
You Bring:
EDUCATIONAL/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed post-secondary education diploma / degree in the IT field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an IT Technician
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge to different situations.
- In-depth knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Clear oral, written, and one-on-one communications skills for use with technical and non-technical users
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Service oriented demeanor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail
- Proven planning, documenting and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects from user request to implementation
- Awareness of IT industry trends
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of the following:
- VMWare vSphere
- Windows Server administration (2008/2012/2016) including AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, GPO
- Network protocols including VLANs, routing, NAT, VPN
- Network devices including Cisco switches, Ubiquity Wi-Fi APs, pfSense firewall, VOIP
- MS Exchange
- MS SQL 2008-2016
- Veeam Backup and Replication
- Powershell and Linux experience would be an asset
