This team is accountable for delivering operational support for Canada Life’s global SAP platform, focusing on efficiency, quality, and client experience. The scale of this global computing platform continues to experience rapid growth as new solutions are being implemented to evolve and enable core business capabilities.
As an SAP Developer part of an SAP Centre of Excellence team you will provide sustainment and development services to Canada and Europe. You will configure, code, unit test and document SAP solutions and provide operational/support services. If you thrive in a fast-paced, ideas-led environment, you’re in the right place.
What you will do
- Design, code, document and execute unit tests, system integration and acceptance tests for functions of high complexity using SAP Process Integration and SAP Data Services, SAP HANA and Oracle databases, SAP Fiori, and ABAP languages.
- Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for the completion of build and testing of solutions.
- Engage other technical team members in the design, delivery, and deployment of solutions between internal and external business systems including Cloud Service Providers.
- Evaluates and learns new technologies that provide business value.
- Improves current practices and tools.
- Provides training to new or less senior professionals or cross discipline practitioners on process, tools, and approaches.
- Participate in knowledge transition, mentoring and code reviews with peers.
What you will bring
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Technical expertise in SAP development tools such as SAP ABAP and ABAP OO, SAP PI/PO, SAP Data Services, SAP HANA, SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), SAP Fiori/UI5, etc.
- Knowledge of middleware solutions and / or experience with ETL solutions is an asset.
- Effective internal consulting skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Communicates in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal.
- Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure.
- Thrives in an environment that is complex and constantly evolving.

The base salary for this position is between $51000 - $95000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
