Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), the Analyst, Great-West ERM, Shared Services supports enterprise risk management activities through data collection, research, analysis, monitoring and reporting related to current and emerging risks, risk measurement, and quarterly and annual risk reporting.

The Analyst contributes analytical and coordination support within established methodologies, governance processes and reporting frameworks. The role helps maintain risk-related data and metrics, prepares reporting materials, coordinates information gathering across stakeholders, and supports the team in continuously improving the efficiency and quality of ERM processes.

This role works with segment risk oversight teams and members of the Great-West ERM Shared Services team to support established production processes, collection and analysis of information, monitoring and reporting.

What you will do:

Support the current and emerging risk program:

  • Perform data analysis of current and emerging risk information, including inputs from regular environmental scans, quarterly reviews, roundtables, reporting and annual risk workshops.
  • Support the maintenance of current and emerging risk data and help ensure risk registers and related reporting materials are current, accurate and supported by validated information.
  • Coordinate information gathering with stakeholders across segment risk oversight functions and support timely completion of established processes.

Support quarterly and annual risk reporting:

  • Prepare and support risk reporting, key risk slides and other analysis for quarterly and annual risk reporting processes.
  • Conduct annual peer review and other analysis supporting the MD&A risk management disclosure.
  • Collect, clean and aggregate information to support monitoring, reporting and presentation materials.

Support risk measurement and monitoring activities:

  • Support annual self-assessments and related reporting through data aggregation, analysis and reporting support.
  • Build out and maintain risk culture scorecard data and other metrics as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in data collection, analysis and reporting processes, including appropriate use of automation and AI tools.

Provide team operational and analytical support:

  • Coordinate updates to global risk organizational charts and other centralized coordination activities.
  • Provide ad hoc data analysis in support of team capacity needs or special projects.
  • Support direct team members and take direction from team members other than the immediate supervisor where appropriate.

What you will bring:

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in risk management, analytics, reporting, business analysis or a related oversight/support function.
  • College or university education, with demonstrated ability to perform data analysis and manage work across timelines and priorities.
  • Business acumen, research skills and strong analytical capability, with the ability to work with data to support risk identification, measurement and monitoring.
  • Broad business, economics and financial knowledge, including awareness of current events and their potential relevance to current and emerging risks.
  • Strong project management, time management and schedule self-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and re-plan in a dynamic environment.
  • Relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy and expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to query AI tools effectively and validate outputs for accuracy.
  • Preferred: a risk management designation, or progress toward a risk management designation.
