In partnership with Huron’s diverse community of alumni, friends, and external stakeholders, University Advancement is a comprehensive development and alumni relations team dedicated to advancing Huron’s mission to develop the next generation of Leaders with Heart. By raising awareness, fostering relationships, and cultivating opportunities for engagement and philanthropic support, our team helps empower students, drive innovative learning and research, and facilitate the University’s engagement with our community and the world.
Reporting to the Director, Development, the Manager, Advancement Services is a key partner in the design and delivery of operational functions that support the team’s goals and priorities for fundraising and alumni engagement and contribute to the University’s strategic objectives.
The Manager, Advancement Services duties will include:
- Managing all aspects of the Advancement team’s CRM/database to support fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives, including oversight of gift processing, maintenance of alumni and donor records, and prospect management and research.
- Supporting a results-oriented and information-driven culture by preparing reports and conducting data analysis for a variety of purposes.
- Designing and executing Huron’s donor stewardship plan, partnering closely with Advancement colleagues and internal partners to deliver effective and personalized donor stewardship, including recognition, reporting and financial management.
- Providing leadership and oversight to the Advancement Assistant, including the development and maintenance of key functions and processes in the operations portfolio consistent with industry best practices and with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the University (including the President’s Office, Career Development, Finance, IT, Admissions & Institutional Systems, and Student Records, among others), to prepare and disseminate information of strategic importance to internal partners, and to ensure the coordination of Advancement data with other institutional systems and software
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you are detailed-oriented with a strong technical background and expertise in CRM platforms. You possess exceptional analytical project management skills, and thrive as a creative, proactive problem-solver committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Specific qualifications include:
- Post secondary education with a focus on business, project management, library science or information management.
- Five (5) years of related professional experience in fundraising operations, database management and/or prospect management and research, preferably within an academic environment.
- Raiser’s Edge database preferred, demonstrated either through a minimum of five years of work experience or Blackbaud Professional Certification
- Proficient in database management and best practices for data delivery with expertise in in-house data mining, report writing, data analysis, data extractions.
- Skilled in utilizing database modules to support effective pipeline development and donor stewardship.
- Proven ability to evaluate prospects and donors based on financial capacity, interests and relationships
- Ability to work with diverse communities with respect, sensitivity, creativity, innovation, and cultural understanding.
- In depth knowledge and experience with prospect research an asset
Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience: $73,024 to $86,750
