Job Summary
Join us as a Digital Category Manager, where you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing StarTech.com’s awareness and conversion in digital channels for a portfolio of resellers and products. In this role, your mission will be to increase customers, transactions and ultimately market share vs. competitors across resellers platforms.
You’ll drive growth by managing the health of our listings and improve outcomes by optimizing key merchandising levers. You will leverage experimentation to improve awareness and conversion through search, pricing, content and more. You will leverage your analytical skillset to review sales performance to find insights, opportunities and mitigate risks in your portfolio. You will be able to convert quantitative data and qualitative assessments into a data-driven approach to build a GTM plan aimed at growing customers and transactional revenue for the North American resellers in your book of business.
What you will be responsible for:
- Optimize product assortment for resellers to ensure all or relevant products are listed.
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans by analyzing brand positioning, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities, increase customer share, and optimize merchandising levers such as keyword strategy, pricing, and content.
- Analyze performance data and develop presentations for regular business reviews, tracking key metrics against targets.
- Drive collaborative experimentation to test hypotheses, uncover actionable insights, and continuously learn what strategies and tactics deliver the greatest impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, internal and external, to optimize products assortment, content and marketing campaigns
- Build and manage strategic relationships with resellers and distribution partners, collaborating on joint business planning to align priorities and drive mutual growth.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on partner websites, ensuring strong brand presence and performance by monitoring site health, identifying gaps, and collaborating with analytics teams to drive continuous improvement across key merchandising and content factors.
- Optimize pricing strategies – MSRP, margin stack, promotional pricing, and volume pricing.
- Build systems and processes for effective operations.
What you need to succeed in this role:
- Experience: 5+ years' experience in digital merchandising, category management or product management.
- Experience developing reseller or manufacturer relationships to deliver joint business plans across companies.
- Experience covering several categories with a strong understanding of merchandising or product management
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in sales, competitive, and market analysis.
- Accountability: Proven success in optimizing conversion rate, increasing market share and in driving brand awareness.
- Customer Insight: Strong understanding of customer segmentation.
- Forecasting: Experience with forecasting and activity funnels.
- Communication: Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Revenue Growth: Experience in growing revenue while managing profitability.
- Analytical Tools: Expertise with using Excel, Power BI (or other visualization tools) to manipulate and build dashboards.
Preferred qualifications:
- Testing: Skilled with A/B testing, personalization, and segmentation.
- SEO Knowledge: Familiarity with SEO principles and content optimization.
- Advertising: Experience with advertising/promotions and their impact.
