Junior Narrative Designer

Join our team at Digital Extremes as a Junior Narrative Designer. This role will be onsite in our London, Ontario office. The Junior Narrative Designer will play a supporting role in developing captivating narratives, memorable characters, and immersive game worlds. A key element of this role will be expanding on Warframe's rich lore to create names and descriptions for items, characters and game concepts. Working closely with senior narrative designers, writers, game designers, this role is an excellent entry point for someone looking to grow their career in narrative design within the video game industry.

• Flavour Text: Develop a deep understanding of Warframe’s lore in order to write captivating game descriptions that excite players and enrich our narrative.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with senior narrative designers and cross-functional teams to help conceptualize and develop compelling narratives, character backgrounds, and in-game lore
• Character Support: Assist in creating and developing well-rounded and relatable characters with distinct personalities, motivations, and growth throughout the game
• World Building: Contribute to the creation and expansion of game worlds, including researching and developing rich history, cultures, and mythologies to enhance player immersion
• Script Support: Assist in script writing tasks, including writing, editing, and reviewing game scripts, dialogues, and narrative content
• Narrative Integration: Work closely with game designers, artists, and audio teams to ensure that narrative elements seamlessly integrate into gameplay, art, and sound
• Quality Assurance: Participate in playtesting sessions and provide feedback to ensure the narrative aligns with the game's design and vision
• Learning and Development: Stay informed about industry trends, gaming culture, and storytelling techniques to continuously improve your narrative design skills
• Other responsibilities as assigned

• 1+ years of experience as a Narrative Designer or equivalent proven work in video game development, or a relevant academic qualification in Narrative Design.
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling and narrative theory.
• Knowledge of basic game design fundamentals and principles.
• Passion for gaming, with in-depth knowledge of games, game culture, and the entertainment industry.
• Strong communication skills, adaptability, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
