Job Summary
The Clinical Research Support Services (CRSS) team at London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute (LHSCRI) provides industry-leading expertise and state-of-the-art clinical facilities at LHSC?s Victoria and University hospitals. The team supports investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials. As a fee-for-service program, researchers can select from a range of services, choosing to contract some or all of the necessary support to successfully conduct their studies.
Services are provided at the researcher?s location (including St. Joseph?s Health Care London locations), University Hospital or Victoria Hospital.?
As a member of the Clinical Research Services team, the Research Coordinator will collaborate with Investigators to support the coordination of a wide range of studies from patient based randomized controlled trials to retrospective chart reviews and basic science studies. Study support is provided collaboratively in a team environment with both independent work and shared projects.
Rate of Pay: $32.66 - $40.83
Temporary Casual - one year renewable contract

Approximately 2,900 Nursing, Health and other students ranging from secondary school to university graduate level programs receive training at LHSC every year. RESPONSIBLITIES AND ACCOUNTABITIES
- Administrative duties related to study start up activities and the ongoing administrative maintenance of various clinical trials
- Study participant screening, obtaining informed consent and enrolling patients into clinical trials
- Scheduling of follow up visits, data entry, data query resolution
- Coordinating and conducting study related procedures, interventions and assessments
- Clinical Data Extraction using Powerchart
- Data entry into REDCap data base
- Regular progress reporting to Research Services Manager, Principle Investigators and Study stakeholders
- Laboratory Support including biospecimen collection, Phlebotomy, sample processing and shipping
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Bachelor?s Degree in Health Sciences or related field of study, equivalent education and experience will be considered
- Minimum of two years recent clinical research experience, preferably in an academic teaching environment
- Experience with screening patients for randomized trials
- Experience with REDCap and other electronic data capture formats
- Ability to prioritize workload with attention to detail
- Phlebotomy skills and Transportation of Dangerous Goods/ International Air Transport (TDG/IATA) are essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Designation in SOCRA, ACRP an asset
- Diploma or Certificate in Clinical Trials Management is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of current regulations and guidelines for conducting clinical trials
- Knowledge of local REB requirements and Lawson Research Management system is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with study participants, health care professionals and team members
- Strong interest in working collectively with other in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, execute and manage several research studies
- Demonstrated organization skills and high level of professional accountability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health?s current definition of being fully vaccinated
