Team Lead

As a Team Lead, you will set the direction for the team, providing technical direction as well as mentorship and guidance. You will excel in a multi-faceted role supporting our clients in the Controls space. You will develop and articulate solutions to complex client automation problems, oversee project execution at a high level providing conceptual and technical expertise, develop and maintain client relationships and provide mentorship, coaching and leadership to your team members. As a strategic leader, you will be the go-to resource assisting CGX’s Controls Specialists in solving the most challenging project obstacles. Ultimately, you will provide superior client experiences partnering with your internal team to cohesively deliver a vision, energy, and intensity that exceeds client expectations.
What would a typical day be like?
- Lead a talented team through unique automation projects and challenges
- Provide technical oversight for automation projects, including quality control/quality assurance and squad checks.
- Ensure the quality of work is consistent and complies with standards
- Drive the Design Process, providing input on areas of improvement
- Monitor project and safety compliance with agreed deliverables
- Support the pre-sale effort by providing cost estimates and proposal development support to the Business Development team
- Support the post-sale effort by maintaining good client relations, high customer satisfaction (as measured by ECE), and assisting in the discovery of ongoing opportunities
- Participate in planning sessions that will identify industry business drivers and trends that will serve as the basis for developing key offerings to our clients, attend client field service and emergency calls and facilitate customer meetings sharing your technical expertise
- Develop and mentor direct reports and gain management skills, including conducting performance reviews and employee career planning sessions
- Be involved in hiring decisions for the branch
- Align employee task assignments with career management plans
- Stay current on team capability knowledge level
- Balance workload assignments to ensure targets are met and employees are engaged with proper work levels
What qualifies you for this opportunity?
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognized engineering faculty or equivalent qualification
- 8+ years’ experience in electrical and automation system design, incorporating PLC’s, HMI, RTU’s, SCADA, Networks, etc.
- 3+ years proven track record of establishing and fostering solid client relationships
- Familiar with IIoT and its benefits in manufacturing and industrial processes
- Experience in the Controls and Process Automation Industry
- Experience with electrical design, electrical codes, and design calculations
- Outstanding leader with experience developing, coaching, mentoring, and providing leadership to employees of various skill and experience levels
- Strong technical and project management skills
- Ability to overcome challenges and handle complex situations
- Well-rounded skillset (interpersonal, people, business, technology, etc.)
- Delivers consistent feedback in a fair and positive manner
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- A proven self-starter
- Works well with a variety of different people from diverse backgrounds
- Motivated & passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigm
- Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; Team Leads at CGX ON/ARK should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada

- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
