Freelance Experienced Web Designer (Figma Expert)

About the Role
We’re adHOME Creative — a creative agency that loves good design, good ideas, and probably a few too many browser tabs open at once.
We’re looking for an experienced freelance web designer with advanced Figma expertise to support our growing roster of website projects. Someone who understands the full web design workflow — from wireframes and UX planning through to polished UI design and developer-ready handoff files.
This is not just a visual design role. We need someone who can think strategically, organize files properly, and create scalable, developer-friendly systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strong UX/UI, conceptual and web design skills
- Designing modern, responsive websites to exacting standards
- Creating wireframes, layouts, and polished UI designs in Figma
- Building organized component systems and scalable design files
- Preparing clean developer handoff packages
- Making design revisions based on internal and external feedback
- Producing creative and innovative concepts that meet client objectives
- Collaborating with the creative and development teams to produce targeted digital experiences
- Demonstrating knowledge of current web design trends, UX best practices, and emerging digital tools
What You’ll Do
- Design responsive websites from concept through completion
- Create wireframes, UI systems, and high-fidelity layouts in Figma
- Develop organized design systems using components, styles, and Auto Layout
- Prepare files and assets for developer handoff
- Take concepts from idea to execution with minimal supervision
- Occasionally debate whether the padding feels “just slightly off”
Who You Are
- A talented web designer with a sharp eye for typography, layout, spacing, and user experience
- A self-starter who can manage your own time and meet deadlines
- A strong communicator, comfortable working remotely and collaboratively
- Someone who values both creativity and organization
Must-Haves
- 3+ years experience in web or UI/UX design (agency or in-house)
- Advanced proficiency in Figma
- Strong understanding of:
- Auto Layout
- Components & Variants
- Design Systems
- Variables & Styles
- Responsive design workflows
- Developer handoff organization
- Interactive prototyping
- A portfolio showcasing responsive website and UI/UX work
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working in agency environments
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS fundamentals
- Familiarity with WordPress or CMS-based websites
- Experience with animation or interactive web experiences
- Branding and identity design experience
