The incumbent requires extensive technical knowledge of several separate and some unique electronic enrollment systems – Ab Initio, Front End Transformation (FET) ACESS and Client Import - as well as the systems that these programs load to – Enrolment Administration System (EAS), Claims Adjudication System (BEN) Pay Direct Drug System (PDD), HealthCare Spending Account System (HCSA) and Health Solutions Plus System (HSP),My Canada Life @ work and Member Serve Service Enrolment (MSSE). Communicate and negotiate file formats with Canada Life's largest clients and set up and maintain the automated enrollment processes for Group Insurance plans where enrolment data is electronically maintained. The set-up process is highly technical in nature. It includes and frequently involves finding new ways to set up unique procedures to meet customer needs.
Accountabilities:
- Setup Electronic Enrollment Processes for New Groups, Conversions and Amendments
- Determine business requirements and clearly document for Group Technology Developers to handle coding
- Discuss requirements and negotiate file format with customers
- Analyze test data and communicate results to customers
- Using Syncsort, write programs to automate any manual data manipulation required
- Document and review instructions and procedures with Technical Assistants and Enrolment Processors
- Perform initial load of data and set up procedures to handle subsequent loads
- Review and address unexpected high volume of errors
- Clear expected errors resulting from the load
- Co-ordinate and schedule BEN batch employee moves for policy number changes
- Handle customer and Group Customer Office requests and inquiries
- Investigate and resolve technical issues or problems relating to customer enrollment files and the electronic enrollment upload program
- On-the-job training will provide required technical knowledge of Client Import/ACESS/EAS/BEN/PAS/PDD/ HSP /HCSA - all internal and primarily main frame systems.
- Investigate and resolve enrollment inquiries relating to individual plan participants
- Create enrollment extract files and statistical reports, sometimes customized, for customers, consultants or underwriting.
- Technical Consulting
- Assist Enrolment Services with automating manual processes for one-time special uploads
- Mentor co-workers on new processes, systems, and client-specific procedures
- Support systems and business projects in the role of Subject Matter Expert
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experience in Group Administration specifically Enrolment would be a definite asset
- Experience working in a highly technical business environment

The base salary for this position is between $48,600 - $72,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
