The base salary will be $82,230 - $117,360 per annum. Starting salary will be aligned with the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.

Responsibilities
The Functional Systems Specialist position is a senior role within the Financial Information Systems team that provides functional support for the University’s Financial ERP system. In broad terms, this includes the management and resolution of functional problems, systems development, production support, end user training, and the implementation of system upgrades. Working in collaboration, the Functional Systems Specialist will support the optimal use of the PeopleSoft Financials applications by providing functional expertise on PeopleSoft Financials modules, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and implementing system changes to improve productivity for users of the University's Financial ERP system.
Qualifications
Education:
- University Degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field
- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages
- Preferred:
- Completion of (or enrollment in) a professional accounting or purchasing designation
- PeopleSoft PeopleTools training
- PeopleSoft application training
- Familiarity with Financial Reporting tools and Business/Data Analytics
Experience:
- 5 years’ experience supporting an enterprise level financial system in a large diverse environment
- Experience with workflow, security administration, portal administration, etc.
- Preferred:
- Experience working in a University environment
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
- Experience with building Financial Reports
- Experience in relational databases including SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle
- Experience with data analytics tools
- Experience with AI technologies within a large ERP environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Financial Business Processes, including application process design, development and implementation
- Project management skills, with an ability to identify goals, outcomes, milestones, and strategies
- Ability to deal with changing requirements and competing demands by effectively prioritizing and re-prioritizing work
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals including senior leaders, internal & external clients, integration partners, developers, database administrators, operations, etc.
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
- Knowledge of techniques for planning, managing and coordinating multiple projects, often with competing priorities that involve a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to affect change and support new directions for applications development technologies on campus
- Ability to provide direction and guidance to support staff in their daily tasks
- Able to introduce innovations and significant improvements to processes and outcomes of work
- Attention to detail with an ability to retrieve, analyze and synthesize sizable amounts of data while ensuring that information is accurate and comprehensive
- Critical thinking skills to analyze problems, and collect information required to make an accurate conclusion
- Demonstrated commitment to remain current on accounting and systems development
- Capacity to actively search out information and apply the newly acquired knowledge to resolve issues
- Innovative and flexible critical thinking skills to adjust to and implement new processes or technology to the University’s advantage
- Demonstrated ability take initiative, to work independently and follow through on work assignments
- Presentation skills to deliver engaging and informative presentations that clearly explain information to audiences using appropriate communication channels
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential situations in a professional manner
