As we maintain and modernize our data integration capabilities, we’re seeking a Senior Ingestion Engineer to deliver insights, resilience and operational excellence. Specifically, we’re searching for someone with strong experience in administration and support of ETL platforms as well as technology operations.
What you will do
Deliver reliable infrastructure and application operations according to business expectations across the application portfolio.
Partner with application development teams to deliver operational readiness for new applications and features.
Drive continual service improvement and innovation in productivity • Effectively articulate complex problems, concepts, and solutions to varied audiences
Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications, including on call support based on a schedule roster.
Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement
Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
What you will bring
A University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience building production data systems or platform components.
Strong coding skills in Python and SQL
Strong understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices, general software development principles with a machine learning software development life-cycle orientation
Strong experience on Azure Data Factory, Databricks and GitLab.
Strong communication skills with an ability to motivate.
Customer focus and strong relationship management skills
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and working within ambiguous situations.
Effective time management, prioritization, and decision-making skills
Ready to participate in production support activities (24/7 roster based, one week every 2 months)
Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto and London.

The base salary for this position is between $minimum - $ maximum annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
