We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Manager to join our world-class PR & Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that has a significant impact on our business, driving outstanding results for Info-Tech Research Group, one of the leading research and advisory firms in the world, and its HR division, McLean & Company. The PR & Comms team is responsible for securing earned media coverage in top outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Globe & Mail, Fortune magazine, Business Insider, HR Dive, and Fast Company, sourcing and applying for various industry and corporate awards, and executing high-impact corporate announcements. The successful candidate will lead and support various corporate communications initiatives, with a strong focus on media relations efforts in North America for both McLean & Company and our corporate brand, Info-Tech Research Group.
This role is an 18-month contract for maternity leave coverage (January 2025 to July 2026).

Position Purpose:
The Communications Manager is responsible for managing and executing corporate announcements, media relations, thought leadership, and reputation management initiatives. This role will support the C-suite and leadership team with communications initiatives and contribute to the promotion of our corporate and research activities. The Communications Manager reports to the AVP, PR & Communications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • McLean & Company Media Relations & Thought Leadership 
    • Identify and capitalize on trending opportunities in North America.
    • Strategize and manage media relations for McLean & Company and Info-Tech Research Group.
    • Provide media prep and support to internal thought leaders.
    • Lead and execute media briefings for major research projects.
    • Guide and execute thought leadership and contributed content.
    • Manage press release planning, development, and distribution.
    • Support industry conferences, events, and speaking opportunities.
    • Maintain the McLean & Company newsroom and occasionally other relevant public-facing webpages as required.
    • Develop and maintain key PR assets.
    • Monitor performance to provide regular analysis and reporting.
    • Research and identify top award opportunities.
    • Complete award applications and execute associated winner announcements.
    • Collaborate with the broader McLean & Company marketing team to support integrated campaigns and projects.
 
  • Info-Tech Corporate Communications & Announcements
    • Help execute company announcements (internal and external).
    • Support C-suite/leadership with miscellaneous communications initiatives.
    • Source and manage corporate media opportunities.
    • Contribute to community relations and support promotion for key events.
    • Provide HR/TA communications support as needed to build and maintain a positive employer brand.
    • Attend department and company calls to consult on PR strategies.
    • Support development of ITRG research press releases, as needed.
    • Research and identify top award opportunities.
    • Complete award applications and execute associated winner announcements.
    • Monitor and report on pressing issues or opportunities.
    • Manage reputation management/crisis communications process.
    • Maintain public profiles and respond to reviews and external comments.
    • Work closely with other teams and departments as needed.
Education & Experience:
  • Diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate communications and/or public relations.
  • Proven track record in confidently and successfully managing media relations and corporate communications.
  • Experience in crisis communications and reputation management.

  • Ability to pivot and adjust on-the-go as priorities demand in a fast-paced environment.
