About Us

Western Continuing Studies (WCS) is the educational bridge between Western University and the global community. Through innovative leadership in lifelong learning, WCS creates and delivers responsive and accessible programs, including non-credit and credit courses in professional development, post-degree diplomas, experiential learning, pre-degree programming and customized corporate training. b) Key Goals of the Unit

• Modernize programming and alignment to amplify and extend the reach of Western University into communities and audience segments the institution does not normally serve.

• Develop and deliver high-quality educational offerings that meet the expectations of new-traditional learners; especially those aiming to upskill and reskill to meet the requirements of the evolving labour market.

• Generate revenue over-and-above operating costs to support institutional revenue goals.

• Partner with colleagues across Western University to develop innovative educational offerings that bring the expertise of Western programming & research to working adults and other communities not enrolled in full-time degree education programming.

• Maintain alignment with the strategic objectives of Western University and support its growth plans.

Responsibilities

*Please note this position is expected to be filled by internal candidate.

In this role, you'll take the lead in crafting compelling content that connects with prospective students across web and social media channels. You'll build a dynamic multimedia library, ensuring all digital communications align with our brand and marketing goals. Your work will drive engagement, foster connections, and enhance recruitment efforts. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage digital content that engages prospective students 
  • Plan and create multimedia materials for web, print, and social media platforms 
  • Ensure messaging is on-brand, persuasive, and strategically distributed 
  • Identify and engage with clubs, organizations, and other key recruitment groups, both internal and external 
  • Contribute to the overall digital marketing and recruitment strategy for post-degree programs, including both diploma and newly launched certificate programs 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated ability to apply creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to daily work 
  • Great attitude, proactive, with strong decision-making skills and the confidence to take initiative 
  • Ability to develop engaging content for web and social media platforms
  • Experience in the creation of video and multimedia content for advertising and recruitment 
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities and travel on occasion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change
  • Knowledge of photography, video, and graphic design
