What We’re Looking For

We’re adding a new Content Writer role to our Marketing team here at Northern. The Content Writer will be responsible for developing and writing B2B technology-focused copy that meets the business and marketing objectives for Northern’s internal marketing teams. This individual will be responsible for understanding, connecting and writing to varying audiences across a range of platforms and will report directly to the Sr. Director of Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, own and execute Northern’s content strategy across all channels.
  • Deeply understand our solution services and understand how to engage with our target audience.
  • Develop B2B content (case studies, thought leadership, launch emails, and more) that captivates, informs, delights, and persuades throughout the customer journey.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure all prospect and customer-facing content is consistent with Northern’s brand voice.
  • Develop clear, creative copy for marketing materials including press releases, web content, editorials, email blasts, banner advertising, newsletters, social posts and other marketing related materials
  • Perform content maintenance and updates as needed in accordance with current project efforts 
  • Generate, edit, publish and share content (original text, images, video or HTML) on social media that builds meaningful connections and encourages engagement/action
  • Interpret creative direction from Sr. management in order to develop and produce impactful and creative concepts
  • Work collaboratively with Northern’s marketing and design team members to achieve department goals while incorporating business and UX requirements in content creation

 

Knowledge, Education & Experience Required

  • Undergraduate University Degree or College Diploma in a related field (eg Business, Marketing, Journalism etc.) or demonstrated related experience
  • 3+ Years of demonstrated Content/Copywriting experience required 
  • Advanced experience writing for brands, B2B, UX or web content creation, and development.
  • Experience writing technical content
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to quickly learn new software; knowledge of various Google Applications
  • Ad copy experience and/or other relevant marketing experience
