Reporting to the Manager, the Inpatient Clerk contributes to organizational day to day support on an inpatient unit by acting as the main communication link, supporting the admission/discharge function, taking appropriate action within scope of role when actioning patient care orderables, maintaining patient health records and completing clerical tasks.
Temporary Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour
Duration: up to June 2025
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Health Care Office Assistant Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and expereince as determined by the hospital
- Previous experience with admission and discharge functions preferred
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation (Power Point), e-mail, Cerner, Electronic Patient Record, Workload Measurement Demonstrated
- Demonstrated proficient communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Effective organizational skills involving time management, prioritization and the ability to problem solve while ensuring attention to detail
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well and independently with minimum supervision in a team environment
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC?s vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
