An internship with the Service Management team at Canada Life is a unique opportunity to learn how technology strategy is developed and brought to life inside a large global organization.

What you will do 

  • You will get an amazing opportunity to build your professional network by working closely with senior leaders in our Service Management organization and assisting them with creating strategies and roadmaps aligned to the organization’s strategic direction.
  • You will also play an active role in supporting Service Management technologies which includes platform design, develop, and configure new modules, applications, and integrations with third-party systems.
  • You will develop high-level architectural concepts and deliver rapid prototypes and Proof of Concepts using the ServiceNow platform.
  • You will conduct research on new capabilities in ServiceNow platform and configure the features and present it to the platform team.
  • You will Collaborate with business partners to capture and review business and functional requirements through user stories, use cases, and process flowcharts.

What you will bring 

  • Knowledge in ServiceNow development using most of the ServiceNow tools and features such as Business Rule, Script Include, Client Scripts, UI Policies, AJAX, Glide Scripting, Java Scripting, Catalog Development, UI Page, UI Scripts, UI Action, Inbound Action, Notifications, REST & SOAP APIs, Workflow, Flow Designer, Script Actions.
  • Knowledge in various ServiceNow integration methods, such as web services, REST, SOAP, Data Sources, LDAP servers, and import set.
  • Familiarity to conduct technical assessments, create comprehensive technical documentation, and ensure alignment with out-of-the-box functionality when building custom solutions on ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with SaaS type of Cloud applications e.g. ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods, contributing to sprint planning and delivering solution features.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

The base salary for this position is between  $39,200 - $65,300 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.

For our student opportunities, the base salary will be dependent on the number of work terms you have completed along with other factors depending on your program.
