Position Overview:

As a Digital Media Content Specialist at Ivey Publishing and Ivey Business Journal, you play a pivotal role in driving ongoing content creation, planning, and development across various platforms. Collaborating with internal teams, faculty, case authors, external vendors, and creative partners, you produce compelling multimedia projects tailored for global business school audiences. We seek an individual passionate about translating complex information into engaging digital content, particularly through video production, social media, web platforms, and image editing.

Responsibilities:

Planning, Communication and Content Creation

  • Plan, develop, and coordinate video and photography content for Ivey Publishing and Ivey Business Journal, including websites, social media, and other channels. This includes ideation, storyboarding and overseeing production.
  • Create high-quality media assets, including selecting and editing stock images, to enhance brand storytelling and engage our audience. This involves utilizing graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva.
  • Assist in developing content for marketing campaigns and promotional materials. You will collaborate closely with the marketing team to align content with strategic objectives and target audience preferences.
  • Manage coordination for photography and video shoots, ensuring smooth operations. This includes liaising with vendors, scheduling shoots, managing logistics, and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct environmental scans and competitive analyses to inform content strategy. You will stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and audience preferences to optimize content performance.
  • Assist the digital marketing team with routine website updates. You will use content management systems like WordPress and Salesforce B2B Lightning to publish and update website content, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Contribute to and manage a library of shared content, organizing and cataloging assets for easy access and retrieval.
  • Edit submissions from case authors to create promotional materials. 
  • Produce video content for workshops and webinars hosted on platforms like Zoom, ensuring smooth execution. You will handle technical setup and oversee post-production editing for content optimization.

Collaboration and Outreach 

  • Attending events and workshops generate live coverage, photos, and videos. You will capture key moments and insights, creating content for social media, newsletters, and other channels.
  • Network with Ivey colleagues to share best practices and content. Building relationships with internal stakeholders and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Analysis and Quality Control

  • Ensure excellence and consistency in photography, video, and social media communications. This includes adhering to brand guidelines, maintaining high production standards, and conducting regular quality assurance checks.
  • Report data to demonstrate the reach and impact of video and social media initiatives. You will work with the marketing team to analyze performance metrics, such as engagement rates, click-through rates, and audience demographics, to evaluate content effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on digital marketing trends and technologies to advise on new initiatives. Continuously learning about emerging tools, platforms, and best practices enables you to innovate and optimize content strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to branding standards and messaging guidelines. Consistency in brand representation across all digital channels strengthens brand identity and enhances audience recognition and recall.

Other

  • Manage content updates and website maintenance on Salesforce B2B Lightning and WordPress platforms for optimal content management and presentation.
  • Utilize graphic design software proficiency to manage image selection and editing for stock images and other visual assets.
  • Apply technical proficiency with webinar platforms like Zoom and video editing software for post-production editing.

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, media studies, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in a content creator role, developing compelling stories in various digital media formats, including photography, animation, and videography. Previous academic environment experience is an asset.

 Skills and Abilities: 

  • Advanced experience in social media content creation, including image selection, editing, and video production.
  • Proficiency in videography and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects).
  • Strong photography skills and experience with professional video camera operation.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and build relationships.
  • Enthusiasm for staying updated on social media platforms and trends.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Premiere or After Effects (Intermediate), Photoshop (Intermediate), Illustrator (Intermediate), InDesign (basic), and WordPress (Advanced) for creating and maintaining advanced WordPress websites.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce B2B Lightning and WordPress platforms for content management and website updates.
  • Experience and competency in Search Engine Optimization best practices and implementation.
