We are looking for an AI Product Owner.
As the AI Product Owner, you will lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of AI-powered solutions that drive exceptional customer and advisor experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including data scientists, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders—to deliver responsible, scalable, and impactful AI products.
What you will do:
Product Vision & Strategy
- Define and communicate a compelling vision for AI-driven products aligned with business goals and ethical standards.
- Identify opportunities for AI to create business value, improve customer experience, and drive innovation.
Backlog Management
- Build, prioritize, and manage a backlog of AI features, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and data/model requirements.
- Ensure backlog items are clearly described, estimated, and aligned with strategic objectives.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with data science, engineering, and business teams to deliver scalable, high-performing AI solutions.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to bridge the gap between AI potential and business impact.
AI Governance & Ethics
- Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring compliance with privacy, security, and ethical standards.
- Monitor and report on AI-specific KPIs, including model accuracy, fairness, explainability, and user adoption.
Customer-Centric Design
- Advocate for explainable AI and user trust, ensuring AI features are transparent, understandable, and add real value.
- Gather and analyze user feedback to refine AI-driven experiences.
Continuous Improvement
- Use experimentation (A/B testing, pilots) to validate AI features and iterate based on data and feedback.
- Stay current on AI trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
Change Management & Enablement
- Lead change management for AI adoption, including training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Promote a data-driven culture across the organization.
What you will bring:
- Proven experience delivering AI/ML products or features in a business environment.
- Strong understanding of data science concepts, model lifecycle, and AI governance.
- Experience with Agile development, backlog management, and sprint planning.
- Ability to translate complex AI concepts into compelling business stories and user experiences.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving cross-functional outcomes for AI initiatives.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for innovation, with a track record of challenging the status quo and embracing change in AI adoption.
- Previous experience in project management or with Canada Life products is an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $92,100 - $170,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
