Job Details
CARFAX Canada is excited to announce the position of Senior, Project Manager. In this role you will work on-site from our London, ON office and report to our Manager, Delivery. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span across one or more business units, manage resources, schedules, and financials. They adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full business and systems development lifecycle.  This individual will manage project risks, issues, and change requests to ensure successful and on-time delivery. They perform detailed risk management including assessment, analysis, response planning, and reporting. The Senior Project Manager will ensure compliance with all applicable methodology and standards including industry standardized practices such as SOC2 and ISO. The Senior Project Manager prepares and delivers communication to stakeholders, and also may be required to manage external vendor relationships and contract obligations.
Position Responsibilities
 
  • Develop and maintain an end-to-end project plan and associated project documentation (e.g. Project Charter, Gating documents)
  • Estimate and procure resources to achieve project goals within the planned timeframe
  • Ensure the overall project is aligned to, and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Participate in establishing Project Management best practices, templates, policies and tools and help mature these capabilities for CARFAX Canada. 
  • Continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices
  • Ensure smooth interaction between agile and waterfall processes
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources
  • Chair the project team meetings
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues 
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables to mitigate impact to baseline
  • Act as a trusted advisor and develop relationships with project stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver appropriate, effective, executive-level communication
  • Manage and ensure that projects are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
  • Manage vendors towards delivery and contract compliance
  • Monitor and control an end-to-end risk management process
  • Coach and guide the scrum master when available and act as the scrum master for development when needed
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team
 Education and Experience Required
  • University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field 
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field considered an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in successfully leading projects to on-time, on-schedule and within budget
  • 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience 
  • PMP certification or working towards is considered an asset 
  • Scrum / Agile certification considered an asset 
  • Experience delivering projects using SDLC Methodologies: Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall 
  • Proficient estimating and forecasting skills 
  • Experience working with third-party systems integrators 
  • Advanced knowledge of tools: MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Confluence, JIRA, and Slack
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work at all levels of the organization
  • Proven leadership, collaboration, and motivational skills, including the ability to influence others towards a common goal across multiple business and technology functions 
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands 
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in analyzing business problems, making decisions, and identifying solutions 
  • Experience with coaching and team building
