POSITION
The Marketing, Communications & Media Assistant supports the Marketing Communications team in the coordination of marketing, communication and media functions within the organization, including project management, analytics monitoring and outreach with external partners. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Director, Marketing Communications.

Responsibilities:
  • Support logistics and events for national branding and communication including but not limited to, funding announcements and media events
  • Assist in publishing content to Let’s Talk Science web properties (website, intranet, volunteer portal)
  • Support campaign tracking which includes, media coverage, web analytics, expenditures, and communication outputs and metrics
  • Ensure maintenance of records on the Let’s Talk Science database, related to communications contacts
  • Initiate data pulls to support the sending of communications to stakeholders such as the annual report, holiday cards and invitations
  • Coordinate projects with designers, printers, photographers and digital media vendors, includingcoordinating distribution and shipping
  • Other duties as requested/required that are within the scope of the position

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related field
  • At least 1 – 2 years’ experience in communications, marketing and/or public relations
  • Demonstrated competency with technology and computer/software skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Planner) and knowledge of SharePoint, with a comfort switching between Mac & PC environment
  • Familiar with and experience using social media as marketing and communications tools
  • Experience with project management and monitoring, including work with external vendors and service providers
  • Knowledge of, and comfort with, French translation process, an asset
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to coordinate work on multiple projects
  • Knowledge of CP style and information privacy regulations
  • Knowledge of the national business community, publicity and promotions
  • Evidence of initiative, accountability, creativity, tact and diplomacy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, research and administrative skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work outside regular hours on occasion

Working Relationships
  • Reports to the Director, Marketing Communications
  • Works closely and collaboratively with members of Marketing Communications
  • Collaborates with program staff in assigned work areas
  • Liaises with staff throughout the organization
  • Interacts with vendors as appropriate

Let's Talk Science has paused the enforcement of our mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
