The Operational Strategy & Enablement team within Canada Life Workplace Solutions Organisation is looking for a Manager (Process Excellence)

 

Reporting to the Director (Optimization and Enablement) The Manager is responsible for operations transformation and continuous improvement in core operational areas.

The Manager will be accountable for achieving operational excellence to deliver efficiency, improve quality, build operational resiliency, and lead the transformational journey across different business units in Canada Operations.

 

What you will do

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of Transformation Strategy by creating operations blueprints and mapping out roadmaps
  • Drive Operational Excellence - through development and management of the operational frameworks that optimize costs, pipeline management, business processes
  • Lead multiple strategic initiatives - collaborating across functions to implement improvements that cultivate better experiences for customers and business users, as well as achieve designated business goals
  • Steer the design and realization of process re-engineering efforts
  • Oversee the entire process analysis cycle from potential assessment and improvement phases through to implementation and control.
  • Provide coaching support and lead departments through the process improvement cycles as a part of building the culture of continuous improvement
  • Evaluate extensive and intricate datasets and develop narrative-driven reports
  • Provide input into the development and monitoring of the budget
  • Develop Business Cases for Initiatives and provide analysis and reconciliation support through savings realization period
  • Develop Process Classification Framework and maintain a repository of business processes
  • Design future state processes in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders and document processes in BPMN2.0 standards
  • Define and measure KPIs to measure process effectiveness
  • Provide thought leadership in building and enhancing process engineering capability within the Organisation

 

What you will bring

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and provide sufficient influence to achieve success
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Process Improvement and Lean Operations Methodology
  • Creative problem solving skills and ability to apply frameworks (MECE, Decomposition Tree, etc.) to solve complex problems
  • Expertise in Service and Operational Design
  • Strong execution skills to support robust deployment of improvement and transformation opportunities in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to analyze complex data to determine appropriate course of action towards the objectives
  • Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deliverables

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in the industrial engineering, business administration, computer science, etc. or equivalent experience or qualifications
  • Professional certification(s) related to Operations design and Process improvement (Lean Six Sigma; Lean Enterprise; Service Design and Management)
  • LSSBL certification with 2+ years of experience is an asset
  • 2+ years experience leading and delivering operational process improvements or initiatives
  • Excellent Data Analytical Skills
  • Excellent communication skills with experience creating and leading presentations to senior leadership
  • Skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively, coach and support project teams
  • High proficiency (8/10) with Excel, PowerPoint; Visio or any other process mapping tools
  • Familiarity with PowerBI is an asset
  • Financial services/insurance business knowledge is an asset

The base salary for this position is between  $74000 - $137000 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
