Talent Initiatives Specialist, Human Resources
 

The Specialist, Talent Initiatives will provide critical support to the Director, Strategic Talent Initiatives and will be responsible for the execution, ongoing management, and continuous improvement of high-impact, enterprise-wide talent programs and emerging capability initiatives across Great-West Lifeco. The Specialist will collaborate closely with global stakeholders across multiple regions to ensure talent initiatives support the broader enterprise and talent development efforts. The Specialist, Talent Initiatives will focus on fostering operational excellence and managing the impact of talent programs and emerging capability initiatives across the enterprise.

 

What you will do:

Execution and management of continuous improvement of high-impact talent and emerging capability program:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end execution of the executive development Global LEAD sessions and sustainment efforts from emerging capability programs
  • Monitor and measure program effectiveness and gather feedback to support continuous improvement and enhancement of programs over time
  • Design and develop engaging executive-level program materials and content through visually engaging presentation decks
  • Develop strategic communication plans to maximize participant engagement and impact 
  • Identify, source, and coordinate speakers for internal conferences and leadership events, supporting diverse business units by leveraging external partnerships and internal networks
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Human Resources’ teams and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of programs and projects
  • Manage multiple programs and or initiatives by navigating shifting priorities and ensuring high-quality execution in a fast-paced environment

Talent Program Metrics, Insights, and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze program usage, engagement, and traffic metrics for talent programs, e-learning, and emerging capability programs
  • Generate data-driven insights to measure program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain and update dashboards and reports to provide data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making and impact to stakeholders

Collaboration on Special Projects:

  • Support special projects aligned with emerging capability initiatives and evolving talent priorities, collaborating with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to drive successful outcomes
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance enterprise-wide organizational talent development efforts 

Research and Best Practice Application:

  • Research on talent development trends and emerging capabilities to enhance program effectiveness
  • Assist in evaluating and integrating industry best practices to inform the evolution of programs
  • Identify and or recommend new tools, framework or approaches to improve and increase leadership and talent development effectiveness 

 

 What you will bring:

  • 3-5 years of relevant related experience within human resources
  • Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, human resources, organizational design and/or a related field
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively for all levels across the organization
  • Ability to quickly adjust priorities, support new initiatives, and collaborate across teams to ensure smooth execution and continued progress
  • Attention to detail, with a laser focus on professional delivery of programs and coordination of material
  • A curious mindset and interest in learning new technologies; familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Visio or similar is an asset
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to create high-quality materials and presentations
  • Strong capability of handling multiple concurrent initiatives while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders across regions
  • Demonstration of strong end-to-end project management skills and the ability to execute in complex, dynamic settings
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and proactive problem-solving when managing multiple programs/initiatives
  • Ability to analyze data and trends, synthesize information, track metrics and dashboards and/or reports that inform leadership inclusive of storytelling skills to translate data and insights into clear narratives to drive decision-making and engagement

The base salary for this position is between  $52,800 - $97,700 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
