Who you are:

As a Senior Business Analyst, you thrive as part of an agile/scrum software development team which collaborates on, designs and documents successful solutions for applications that support Ivey Business Schools organizational goals and user needs.  As a member of the Information Technology team, you play an integral role in capturing stakeholder needs, translating these into solutions and maximizing opportunities to synthesize information from core enterprise platforms to support data driven decision making for Ivey’s business units.
Your years of work in Business Analysis allow you to proficiently learn new business systems, adapt to new platforms and assess fit for business need.  The Information Technology team works within rapid learning cycles therefore your ability to flex, adapt and pick things up quickly will be essential in ensuring success in this role.  Ideally, you will have managed an Enterprise Salesforce Platform and will act as a subject matter expert on the technical aspects in line with industry best practices and oversee the Data Security Model for internal and community users.

What you’ll do:

Business Analysis
  • Conduct business process reviews with stakeholder teams
  • Elicit business requirements with stakeholder teams
  • Explore, design and recommend alternative solutions
  • Document functional specifications, system design and acceptance criteria
  • Lead the test strategy development and perform QA testing.  Ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
Project Management
  • Initiate project with business case, project scope and overall project plan
  • Plan for and manage risk with user stakeholder team members
  • Create, adjust and execute project work plan
  • Break project into work packages with vendor and/or I.T.  developers
  • Monitor and control project costs and scope
  • Enforce project standards and deadlines
  • Engage directly with Western Procurement on RFPs or with Western Legal as required for vendor contract review
Solution Implementation and support
  • Plan implementation with all stakeholders (external and internal)
  • Execute final acceptance testing, training and documentation
  • Empower stakeholders to leverage technology solutions through ongoing coaching, training, consultation, documentation and support
  • Gather and analyze external costs for purchased solutions
  • Negotiate vendor agreements in collaboration with Western Procurement and Western Legal as required
  • Monitor costs against estimates and communicate as appropriate
Strategic Roadmap Planning
  • Engage with managers, senior and executive staff in the business units to bring forward high level business technology opportunities to Executive Director of IT
  • Explore and propose innovative technology opportunities
  • Collaborate on creation of and priority setting for projects on the I.T. roadmap
  • Develop collaboratively with team and maintain roadmap document for B.A. projects
  • Integrate Roadmap with other I.T. areas
Leadership & Mentoring
  • Train and manage performance of Salesforce Administrator
  • Support training and development of other team members within business applications
  • Coach team members and foster learning environment for ongoing improvement of team capabilities
  • Sponsor and coach collaborative team goal-setting and achievement

What you have:

Required Education and Experience:
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience and demonstrated success in prior projects or similar roles with the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Ideally hold Salesforce Certified Administrator or above status with 5+ years of Salesforce Administration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing business and technical requirements with the ability to promote and lead organizational change and a proven track record of business process analysis, mapping and documentation for multi departmental and cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and implementing re-engineered business processes and associated software and hardware.  Previous experience working within Higher Education systems is an asset.
  • Proven track record of business process analysis, mapping and documentation for multi departmental and cross-functional teams
  • Solid experience and in-depth knowledge of Business Data Modeling; demonstrated familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
  • Appreciation and understanding of the value of effective business work flows and customer UX in technology experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience of project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-department and cross-functional project teams delivering technology solutions.

  • Professionalism with a demonstrated ability to inquire and listen to employees’ ideas and challenges.
  • Proven ability to evaluate 3rd party software against business needs
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to provide leadership to stakeholder teams in developing high quality solutions. Lead cross functional discussions to drive transparency, agreement, and alignment.
  • Exceptional time management skills and demonstrated capability of managing multiple projects, simultaneously.
  • Self-learner who constantly look to improve their professional practice through research and exposure to new ideas.
  • Ability to work independently, to plan, be proactive and suggest improvements.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships for successful implementations.
  • High level of comfort exploring emerging and evolving technology platforms.


Location: London, ON with potential for flexible working arrangements

Position Type: This is a full-time (35-hours/week) 3-year renewable contract with full benefits.

Typical Hiring Range: Based on the salary band for this role, external candidates can expect to be offered a starting salary in the range of $73,500 to $91,900. When determining salary, we consider the market, candidate experience, as well as internal equity. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the range and beyond the hiring range of the band, through annual increases. The maximum salary for this band is approximately 20% higher than the top end of the hiring range.
