We are looking for a results-driven professional to join our Insurance Sales Enablement team as Manager, Tax and Estate Planning. This role will support our top advisors, our Wealth and Tax Planning Consultants (WTPC) and our Advanced Case Consultants (ACC) across the country by providing relevant content and subject matter expertise in tax, estate and insurance planning, and engaging in case consultation.


What you will do 
 

  • Provide tax, estate and insurance planning case support and consultation to top advisors
  • Provide professional and technical development to insurance advisors regarding tax, estate and insurance planning 
  • Contribute to the development of field partners in tax and estate planning, life insurance planning and sales strategies
  • Ideation, creation and development of thought leadership material including technical publications, advanced sales articles, presentations, webinars and other medium 
  • Increase the exposure and recognition of Canada Life’s Tax and Estate planning team’s thought leadership with industry and professional associations through speaking engagements, technical publications and other medium
  • Remain current on relevant tax legislation, regulatory matters and, tax and estate planning developments and trends   


What you will bring 
 

  • Professional designation (CPA, LLB, LLM (Tax))
  • Completion of the CICA In Depth Tax Course or similar course of study
  • 8+ years of experience in personal, estates and corporate tax gained through relevant accounting, legal or financial services experience
  • Strong tax and estate planning analytical skills and reasoning with expertise in the taxation of private companies and their shareholders, trusts and estate planning
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical and complex information in a manner that is clear, effective and appropriate for the intended audience
  • Previous experience in the Life Insurance or Financial Services industry considered an asset 
  • Expertise in the taxation of life insurance products considered an asset

 

Salary Range

Minimum: $78,600  

Maximum: $137,900

 
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London
