Financial Analyst

We’re looking for a passionate Financial Analyst to join our team and continue our work of ensuring greater water confidence and environmental stewardship. Interested? Let’s talk! The Financial Analyst will have validated problem solving and operational improvement skills. This position is responsible for completing various analytical related tasks including:

  • Analyzing results to better understand present and future financial performance of supply chain drivers in order to achieve or exceed targets. Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
  • Prepares reports and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, SG&A, and inventory.
  • Assists in the development of the budget, planning, and other financial requirements.
  • Prepare, analyze and validate:
  • Monthly key indicator reporting;
  • Monthly SG&A accruals and reporting;
  • Project savings tracking;
  • Cost review and communication to Sales& Marketing, Research & Development, HR, IT and Finance.
  • This position also completes other tasks and projects as required to support the Supply Chain and our Finance department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred 5-7 years of dynamic finance, accounting or indirect purchasing analysis experience preferred 3-5 years of forward-thinking experience in a Financial Analyst role preferred
  • Experience working in a multi-site, cross-functional environment Strong skills in organization, attention to detail, negotiation, project execution, presentation, and data analysis Validated interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable taking a position within a complex matrixed environment.
  • Use of financial reporting tools including experience with large ERP's, and Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Travel requirement potentially 1 to 2 weeks per quarter.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think out of the box
  • Motivated, results-oriented self-starter who will actively work to expand existing skills

Measurements

Analyze, report, and monitoring of project savings against policy deployment goals YoY reduction in indirect spend costs of 5-10% of targeted spend categories (indirect commodities, travel/expense) Improvement in working capital (DPO) of x% linked to more favorable negotiated payment terms

Accountabilities

  • Collaboratively work with cross-functional leads across all Trojan locations to analyze and identify spend categories where our businesses would benefit from enhanced management.
  • Collect and analyze spend and price data with procurement specialists, finding opportunities for negotiations based on operating company data through working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to create a funnel of future year cost savings opportunities (1-3 years out).
  • Develop & execute appropriate short- and long-term strategies with functional leads concerning indirect materials and services, and appropriate recommendations which result in overall cost/spend reduction.
  • Provide business partners across Trojan Technology locations with timely, relevant and insightful reporting, analysis and business decision support.
  • Help drive adherence to our indirect purchasing guidelines and participate in indirect cost savings project teams as appropriate.
  • Identify cost savings and continuous process improvement projects for global locations and teams through a process to categorize discretionary and/or indirect spend to identify savings opportunities.
  • Create strategies to maximize our impact on behavior, processes and tools as it relates to indirect procurement and spend management.
  • Support and lead cost savings workshops and kaizen and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Help Drive in-year cost savings objectives across multiple office locations and across multiple functions.
  • Own the reporting and management of global cost savings metrics for communication to our leadership team.
  • Assess and improves existing tools to support spend visibility, dashboards, and reports. This will include monitoring and providing management reporting to total vendor spending related to purchase order thresholds.
