Position Summary

This position, reporting to the Team Leader, is responsible for handling of the documentation preparation, monitoring and coordinating of customs release of shipments and to finalize released goods (confirm) for the import of commercial goods into Canada in accordance with the Customs Act. Role is focused on providing the highest level of customer service to complex accounts/clients, vendors and service providers in acquiring the proper import documentation and nurturing the client relationship. The Senior Customs Account Analyst is skilled at nurturing relationships with clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nurture client relationships to ensure repeat business.
  • Preparation of customs and supporting internal documents
  • Completing complex transactions and provide guidance to Customs Analysts
  • Maintain working knowledge of both current and pending customs and other agency regulations and policies.
  • Maintain CCS designation
  • Tariff research and classification
  • Documentation of errors for customs account analysts via CSI
  • NAFTA review
  • Accurate completion of a high volume of entries

 

 

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Secondary school diploma
  • Must have successfully completed the CSCB Certified Customs Specialist course and work towards maintaining the designation
  • Understanding of customs tariff and NAFTA application
  • Ability to classify goods
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel and Word including the ability to manipulate data within a spreadsheet
  • Solid understand of CCAPP with ability to learn more complex functions preferred
  • Ability and desire to travel in Canada and the USA
