Role Brief
We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development of our products, leading a team of skilled engineers, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization. You will be responsible for managing a range of engineering projects, from conceptualization to final product delivery, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of design engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Define project timelines, set priorities, and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Ensure the team are aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities.
- Work in collaboration with business development to execute on the product development roadmap
- Forecast staffing and resource needs in line with company growth.
- Provide guidance and support to the team in making informed technical decisions, staying up to date with industry best practices and emerging technology.
- Develop the engineering department's long-term strategy and goals, including developing performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity within the engineering team.
- Recommend, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards to improve all aspects of flow.
- Encourage and support innovative thinking and problem-solving within the engineering team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback via 1-on-1’s and support the professional development of team members.

Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, robotics, and control systems (an asset).
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in scheduling and capacity planning within an engineering environment.
