Video Producer Position

Our team of producers and editors develop engaging content based on trending, news, and general interest topics that match the demographics of our viewers on various websites and social media pages we own and operate. Writing, video sourcing, fact-checking, and editing are all done in house by our talented staff. We work as a fully collaborative team, developing new story ideas and sometimes even co-producing content.
We are looking for a motivated Video Producer who has a strong command of social media platforms and the type of video content that resonates within that space. You would be the key stakeholder responsible for completing the video process from concept through to post-production, as we expand video across our owned and operated brands. You would work closely with a dynamic team of producers and editors delivering top-notch content that entertains our audience that consists of tens of millions of followers.
*****This is a full-time, in-house position in London, Ontario (During COVID-19 we will be WFH indefinitely, with plans to reopen the office in 2022) **Applicants must submit a cover letter/resume with your application to be considered**

Responsibilities:
- Produce/Direct one original video per week that is 3-5 minutes in length using a DSLR camera Contribute to concept development and script writing
- Write skits and complete scripts
- Cast actors and core talent when required
- Oversee interns and production assistants
- Meet with the Director of Video on a regular basis to ensure creative and production needs are met
- Virtually work alongside experienced videographer to complete shoot
- Complete post-production sound design using Adobe Premiere
- Create scene and script breakdowns when required
- Analyze past video performance data to gain insight into future productions
- Bonus asset if you are willing to act and be in the videos
The Ideal Candidate:
- Lives and breathes viral-type stories, including video narratives
- Strong command of new video technology
- Understands that a combination of data analysis and creativity generate success
- Understands social media platform algorithms in relation to viewership success
- Can quickly develop stories from ideation through the final written word
- Has an eye for attention-grabbing image selection
- Keen interest in learning new skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of social media platforms
- Extremely organized with close attention to detail
- Bonus for being able to write short-form comedic skits
- Min 2 years of experience in editing
- Exceptional time management capabilities and ability to continuously meet deadlines
- Has the ability to produce content quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Excellent command of spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Strong ability to quickly understand the different voices and styles of our various websites
- A team-oriented individual who works well independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
