JOB INFORMATION       

Position Title: Manager, IT Operations

Position Location: London, Ontario

Position Reports To: VP, IT

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the VP, IT the Manager, IT Operations is responsible to manage, organize, evaluate and/or report on the day-to-day delivery of global corporate Information Technology infrastructure and operations. Role includes process development, implementations and improvement, staff resource planning, staff and contractor performance management, risk/data security management,and to provide support, expertise and represent the unit and/or team members with other functional units, sponsors and stakeholders. They will also oversee unit members' activities, to ensure high quality, timely service delivery and that delivery processes are maintained in accordance with corporate and industry best practices and that meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Operational Management

  • Plan, lead, and manage the deployment, delivery, maintenance, development, documentation and ongoing support of all IT infrastructure and operations related products, systems and services including hosted systems (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), physical and virtual servers, hardware, software, tools and peripherals.
  • Regularly evaluate, recommend, and report on gaps/risks in current service levels, data security/disaster recovery processes, and financial, budgetary, and operational implications of innovations and improvements.

Customer Service Delivery

  • Represent and support the IT Operations team with internal partners and external stakeholders to deliver existing services, identify areas of improvement, investigate, implement, and integrate new software, technologies and processes while ensuring systems data integrity/security is maintained, properly documented, and meets or exceeds regulatory requirements, industry best practices and strategic organizational goals and targets.

 

Team Management and Engagement

  • Manage the activities for the members of the IT Operations team ensuring areas are adequately staffed with qualified personnel, providing ongoing support to staff in the areas of work allocation, resource planning including scheduling, training and development, technology, process development, expense management, employee engagement and performance management.

 

Infrastructure and Software Planning

  • Direct, develop, implement and/or monitor user requirements, the case justifications, cost/benefit analyses, project plans/budgets, resource requirements identification and acquisition, associated with the growth, improvement, and implementation of, IT infrastructure, Data Storage, Security and Telecommunications systems and other software business tools and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should have a minimum of a College Diploma/Degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience.  Additionally, candidates should have two years of leadership experience in a complex and dynamic environment. Deep understanding of current and emerging infrastructure and operations technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them. Knowledgeable in how to apply technology to achieve regulatory or statutory compliance requirements. Two or more years of experience deploying and securing virtual workloads in Microsoft Azure. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a staffing plan that ensures the right people are in the right roles at the right time, and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied. Ability to adapt to a changing environment, effectively organize and manage multiple priorities and lead team to do the same.
