Job Description

The Operations Analyst – Production and Systems Support is part of the Enterprise Information Management team. Reporting to the Manager, Production and Systems Support, this role is responsible for providing production & system support and data infrastructure management for the Akora team. This position must work proactively and effectively with other technology & business partners to provide support and expertise in Data management, infrastructure support, and Big Data / Hadoop Initiatives.

 

Requirements

  • Provide ongoing system management & support to TD’s Big Data – Hadoop clusters
  • Effective analysis of environmental incidents and problems, engaging appropriate teams and/or vendors to drive resolution
  • Continuously assess for improvements to support growth/change on the platforms
  • Participate in the preparation of improvement deployment plans and operational support procedures.
  • Ensure high quality work and maintenance of standards within own area of responsibility
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the team by sharing information, knowledge, expertise and lessons learned on a regular basis.
  • Provide on-going communications on project status and systems restrictions.
  • Ensure that Audit and TRMIS policies and procedures are respected.
  • Some after-hours and weekend support may be required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Post-secondary degree: Computer Science, Engineering or similar degree preferred
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of financial institution and / or credit card experience.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Information Management and Data Warehousing.
  • Tangible experience with information technology; data and systems management; expert knowledge/experience with Unix/Linux; fundamental knowledge/experience with Hadoop administration and utilities and virtual environments;
  • Familiarity with AWS or MS Azure
  • Basic knowledge of Hadoop architecture
  • Good working knowledge of Linux/Shell scripting
  • Hands on experience using Jenkins
  • Familiar with Hadoop development tools & utilities (Pig, Hive, Java, Sqoop, Flume, etc.) and CDH.
  • Experience in various Tools and services: Podium , Talend, Jenkins, Oozie, hive
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Hands on experience using Jenkins
  • Experience in working with Cloudera manager
  • Hands on experience of using Hadoop file system commands
  • Good Understanding of Data Ingestion and Extraction ,should have experience on any of the ETL tools
  • Working knowledge of JIRA
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Excellent time management skills

  • Experience with orchestration workflows and high-level configuration management concepts and implementations and automation tools such as Puppet or Saltstack is an asset.
  • Ability to use a scripting language such as Python or Perl is an asset.
  • Understanding of networking, firewalls and load balancing would be an asset
  • Knowledge on Talend deployment and job scheduling would be an asset
  • Good knowledge of PDLC and Quality Assurance/Testing would be an asset.
