Reporting to the Program Manager, or designate, and drawing on your proven success in managing technology development and implementation projects, you’ll provide strategic project management and delivery of technology projects – from A to Z – for London Hydro.

JOB DUTIES
More specifically, as a Project Manager within our IT Department, you will:
  • Direct and manage the development of IT projects within the Project Management Office (PMO) portfolio – from beginning to end.
  • Communicate project management standards and techniques to the appropriate training staff.
  • Review budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Track and monitor project milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Accept and assess status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Conduct project post-mortems to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements and create a recommendations report.
  • Supervise new project team members, and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety Act rules and regulations, the IHSA's Electrical Utility Safety Rules, London Hydro safe work practices and procedures, and all components of London Hydro's health and safety program.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The qualified Project Manager we seek must be able to meet the following requirements:
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • You also have PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification and/or Program Management Certification.
  • You are experienced in implementing projects using various methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
  • You show advanced skill in using Microsoft Project to build, execute and track significant projects.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to manage a number of projects concurrently.
  • Your project management experience includes at least 2 years in Technology Development and Implementation.
  • Your communication skills are excellent.
  • You have the ability to execute and deliver results within required timeframes.
  • Utility experience would be an asset.
  • You possess a valid Class G driver’s licence.
