Job Description

Position Overview
Provides Leadership and oversight to the Professional Services software development engineering department.  Oversees individual and team efforts to design and deliver customer solutions won-time with excellent quality.  This management position is responsible for process and people leadership, enabling personal and team growth while ensuring outstanding performance and executing best practices of software development within North America PS Banking Practice.
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage a large team of software developers ranging from Entry level to Principal Software Development Engineer
  • Being continuously up to date on projects status and developer performance
  • Responsible and Accountable for definition and governance of the North America PS Banking Practice Software Development Processes including establishing, documenting and ensuring Best Practices for SCM, Development Documentation, Software Builds, Development Testing and Coding Standards
  • Goal Setting for direct reports to support the North America PS Banking Practice business goals.
  • Performance Evaluation and Improvement planning and monitoring for direct reports
  • Establishing career growth paths for direct reports which account for both individual and organization goals
  • Creating Training Plans for direct reports to support individual and corporate goals
  • Working closely with the Resource Management Office and relevant Technical Leads to ensure appropriate project assignments are made and maintained in the face of changing priorities
  • Accountable for accurate, and timely Pre-Sales estimation request completion
  • Interface for all issues requiring HR involvement such as immigration and performance improvement
 
Qualifications
  • Education: Master or Bachelor degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related
  • 6+ Years Professional Software Development experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a software development function
  • Demonstrated ability to define, implement and govern Software Development processes and best practices
  • Experience with and strong knowledge of SCM and build tools including Jira, GIT, Bitbucket and Jenkins
  • Experience in working in a distributed often global virtual team environment
  • Ability to interact and coordinate with employees at different levels, different groups, and different geographical locations within the company
  • A pragmatic, but innovative problem solver combined with a highly delivery focused approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
 
Preferred
  • Good knowledge of the scope of services of the Diebold Nixdorf Banking Practice software portfolio
