THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll design and develop cutting-edge enterprise insurance software solutions, drive key architectural decisions, and mentor a talented group of developers. If you're passionate about solving complex challenges, writing clean and efficient code, and working on impactful projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment - this is the place for you!

This position can be performed from our office in London, Ontario or remotely within Canada. Remote-based employees may occasionally be asked to travel to our office for meetings or team-building events.
 

Responsibilities

• Write clean, readable, and testable code using Java
• Contribute to the design and development of features, applications, and systems
• Participate in peer code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality
• Diagnose and fix bugs originating from client’s production environments
• Write automated tests to ensure high code quality and maintainability
• Collaborate with senior developers to address technical debt and improve design and architecture
• Learn and apply best practices in software development with guidance from senior team members
• Demonstrate integrity by consistently making decisions that align with team values
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Over 3 years of experience in Java enterprise application development
• Comfortable with writing unit and integration tests
• Knowledge of web front-end development, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, HTML and CSS
• Familiarity with tools like Git, Maven, Spring, and Docker
• Experience with SQL
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Experience in working within a team using Agile Methodologies (Kanban)
• Familiarity with the following technologies is a plus: MyBatis, ActiveMQ, WildFly, Alfresco Content Services (ACS), Solr, Redis, and Jaspersoft
