StarTech.com is currently looking for a Product Verification Specialist to join our Product Development team at our Corporate Office in London.

As a Product Verification Specialist, you will be at the forefront of ensuring top-notch product quality. Reporting to the Manager, Product Verification and Sustaining Engineering, you'll drive our product verification strategy, set quality criteria, and stay updated on industry best practices and technology standards. Your role is pivotal in maintaining StarTech.com's high standards for functionality, quality, and compatibility. As the gatekeeper between product design and manufacturing, your decisions directly impact the quality of our products throughout their lifespan.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Performing testing for various product lines including Cables, Audio-Video, Networking, I/O Cards, Data Storage, Server Management, and Computer Parts
  • Direct participation in the creation and execution of test strategies, processes and procedures as required for the verification tasks of specific products. Includes verification of hardware, embedded firmware/drivers, application software, and system level testing
  • The ability to become a Subject Matter Expert on state-of-the-art technologies such as HDMI, USB, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, etc. as well as experience using advanced test equipment such as protocol analyzers, high speed oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers and the latest laptops and PC hardware.
  • Facilitating consistency in test design strategies, methodologies and best practices, as well as promoting the reuse of already existing concepts, solutions and tools.
  • Identifying and implementing best practices in design verification in support of the StarTech.com Product Launch Process.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary education, ideally in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Electronics and Embedded Systems, or Electronical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with hands on product testing (system level as well as sub-assembly level) and
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with USB, USB-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort standards and with Lab instrumentation such as Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Protocol Analyzers, Temperature chambers, Network Analyzers, etc. 
  • In-depth understanding of various operating systems (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux)
  • Superior technical abilities and a passion for technology, new products, hardware, software and product quality
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Collaboration skills – this role will be working closely with other Product Verification Specialist, Product Developers, Product Managers, test instrument suppliers etc.
  • Thorough and detailed documentation skills
  • Ability to recommend appropriate test equipment to stay current with the latest technologies and ensure products meet the compatibility needs of our customers
