Role description 

 

The Sr. Quality Assurance Specialist leads Quality Assurance on major projects or initiatives along with a focus on ensuring overall squad alignment to best practices, proper documentation, continuous improvement and access management.

This role applies advanced knowledge to complex work and supports project, product and operations teams by sharing skills and mentoring. This role leads the work to implement solutions to complex testing problems, which may be independently or through leading, supporting the collaboration with other stakeholders across the Group Retirement Services space.

The individual must have good leadership, strong communication and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams.

 

What you will do 

  • Organize and deliver overall test coordination within project / initiatives
  • Ensure traceability between requirements and testing related deliverables 
  • Coordinate testing timelines, dependencies and interactions with dependent systems and delivery teams 
  • Champion and contribute to the development and effective application of testing standards, tools, processes and best practices
  • Squad level test case repository management, champion test data management techniques
  • Overseeing team collaboration to produce test strategies, test plans, test cycles & execution, and other testing effort tasks
  • Troubleshoots high complexity problems to determine root-cause, requiring analysis and exploration of options, recommending solutions or preparing discussion for escalation
  • Adapts to organizational change, best practice and improvements across teams, including the effective implementation and adherence to analysis processes and practices and architectural directions

 

 

What you will bring 

  • Expert knowledge of various software development lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile) 
  • Test leadership experience on large, complex projects, programs or initiatives 
  • Large project scoping, estimating, and work management 
  • Mapping complex requirements to test strategies and cases and analyzing test coverage 
  • Developing effective working relationships with the business 
  • Working experience in Group Retirement Services considered an asset 
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, self motivational, problem-solving, and written communication skills to satisfy the main duties of this role 
  • Strong experience in tools such as Zephyr, JIRA, Confluence, SQL Developer, TOAD etc.

The base salary for this position is between  $61000 - $114,000 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
