We are establishing our new head office in London and looking to grow our team! Candidates located in this region will be given preference.

This job may require travel to Toronto or London, or in other locations across Ontario for in office days, training, or events.

Salary Grade: N08 From: $97,186.00 To: $121,483.00
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced system architect who has experience in designing large complex end-to-end solution architecture involving multiple enterprise systems and complex integration in a hybrid multi-cloud environment. System architect in this role need to be a strategic thinker, will foster trusted relationships, collaborate with business and vendors on requirements and redesigning processes, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and design, document and build solutions.
As a System Architect, you will define and develop solution architecture diagrams, different viewpoints, models, matrices and design documentation for projects that supports the most efficient, reliable, scalable, and secure solutions to meet the business needs and technology strategy. This includes planning, evaluating, recommending, and designing products and architectural solutions in compliance with corporate and IT strategies, legislative requirements, policies, standards, architecture principles, patterns and reference architectures.
The System Architect will ensure we are building cohesive, future forward solution that leverages enterprise technology assets and best practices using modern software development, deployment and operations principles. Leads and facilitates the design and implementation of repeatable technical solutions and processes related to technology solution architecture.
Experience in conceiving, creating and documenting end-to-end solution taking care of business, application, data, privacy and security aspects, and overseeing the build and implementation involving ServiceNow, Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is an asset.
The System Architect will develop and maintain architecture vision, strategy, application and technology landscape view for the portfolio. Partners with broader internal stakeholders to define architectural possibilities and futures. You will also get the opportunity to liaise with business and development teams to recommend processes or system design enhancements. Ensures that designed systems are functionally appropriate, technically sound, secured, compliant and well-integrated.

Major Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture
- Responsible for Architectural deliverables when involved in strategic solutions and delivery within a project setting. Magnitude –projects from $1 million to $100 million.
- Recommend technical solutions which will drive automated processes and/or minimize internal sourcing needs.
- Develop, model and apply enterprise-wide references to processes, information models, application and technical architectures as they relate to IT projects.
- Provide subject matter expertise.
- Keep abreast of industry (both technical and business-related) trends and internal strategies and directions through publications, research papers, personal networks and vendors to identify opportunities for WSIB.
- Provide evaluation of technology innovation with business needs by leading proof of concept projects.
- Conduct user interface reviews, determine impacts of infrastructure change and ensure solutions are aligned with corporate strategy, objectives and architectural principles.
- Liaise and collaborate with business partners in all disciplines.
- Support and advise management and technical staff in all branches within Business Technology Services.
Architecture Governance
- Conduct internal and external solution reviews and incorporate feedback.
- Prepare required material for architecture governance meetings.
- Present the architecture solution and secure approval.
- Resolve any action items.
Architecture Services
- Periodically assess current architecture for components at risk of obsolescence and identify opportunities for investment/remediation or replacement.
- Provide consulting and advice to the business community regarding plans and strategies.
- Develop and evolve the enterprise architecture, describing business components, technical infrastructures and their inter-relationships and dependencies.
- Participate in creation and evaluation of RFP/RFS requests and responses.
- Perform market scan of various technologies and solutions and write architecture assessments and recommendations.
- Write/Collaborate on reference architecture.
Job Requirements:
- 7+ years of work experience in IT System / IT Solution Architecture, 3+ years’ experience in designing solutions for Cloud Native applications on Azure and AWS
- TOGAF, AWS Solution Architect, Azure Solution Architect, CISSP or CDMP certifications is an asset
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
- 5+ years software design and development with Java, React, Angular, MQ, Databases, Tomcat, Apache, JBOSS, WebSphere
- 5+ years designing solutions with RESTful API and Microservices.
- Experience in building ServiceNow, Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) solutions is an asset.
