Salary Grade:  213        From:  $94,583.02  

Job Summary :

Design, develop, implement and support new or enhanced end-to-end solutions in a multi-platform environment that meet quality management and development standards and also provide system, technical analysis and solution recommendations/work effort estimation for project development deliverables. This role is on the automation team which is responsible for delivering and maintaining intelligent automation and RPA solutions to business partners across WSIB.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Design, develop and deliver technology enabled applications and provide technical expertise that adheres to quality management plans and standards by:

  • Providing solutions to business and technical issues and ensuring that design specifications and development schedules are met.
  • Providing solution recommendations that have potential business/process automation impact and organization/financial impact.

2. Interact with the business, vendors and ITC technical teams by:

  • Gathering technical requirements for integrating with the vendor products;
  • Attending Requirements and solution design reviews;
  • Coordinating system installations and software testing;
  • Integrating system solutions to handle confidential data/information and transfers between WSIB and external service providers;
  • Conducting and attending technical and detailed design walkthroughs and code reviews;
  • Providing isolation and resolution of software issues by leading root cause analysis, providing recommendations and communicating options for resolution of software issues;
  • Providing feedback to architecture or high-level solution designs, project plans, requirements, testing and change/implementation review and walkthroughs;
  • Report timely work progress status to lead, project manager and development manager.

3. Collaborate with project or support teams and coordinate all development and system integration testing activities by:

  • Preparing detailed design specifications, test cases and document testing result;
  • Designing/developing high quality application and integration components based on WSIB’s standards and industry’s best practices, using the J2EE/JavaEE or .NET solution frameworks and integrating enterprise solutions utilizing EAI/ Middleware technology;
  • Defining and developing logical data models and processing models based on business requirements in order to meet the organization's information requirements by helping to determine data requirements, normalization, structure and distribution;
  • Participating in defects meetings and resolving development related issues/defects;
  • Supporting all testing, creating code drop release notes and overseeing the implementation of all development components;
  • Researching development and integration best practices in order to introduce innovative and creative solutions;

4. Provide after-hours support for applications, integration components, middleware adapters/wrappers and interfaces in order to achieve operational excellence.

5. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements

Education

  • University completion at undergraduate level with a specialty focus in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Experience

  • Five years prior experience in software development and technical support.
