Application Specialist

The Applications Specialist is responsible for helping to frame world-class solutions for our largest customers, using the latest industry and technology best practices. The Applications Specialist will assist in increasing knowledge, efficiency, and consistency in our engineering solutions across all divisions of the company. They play a key role in strategic Phase 1 or FEED studies, along with developing Automation Roadmaps and playbooks for our customers, all the while representing our best practices to ensure success. They would be responsible for ensuring JMP meets or exceeds third party certifications (i.e., Rockwell, Ignition, etc.) and customer/regulatory audit compliance.

What would a typical day be like?

• Architect world-class solutions (pre- and post-sales), ensuring JMP is delivering the best possible solutions to the market.
• Support the initial discovery and technical engagements for beach head or strategic customers.
• Execute FEED Study and Road Mapping Best Practices for the divisions.
• Prepare and deliver playbooks for multi-site program rollouts.
• Support execution of first-time proof of concept engagements
• Document and capture best practices and methodologies.
• Provide remote support to branches who provide localized rollouts in their regions.
• Participate in development of new JMP offerings through research and testing of leading-edge technologies.
• Work closely with our strategic partners to ensure their latest offerings are adopted by JMP and become differentiators for us in the marketplace.
• Model standards and new technologies for standardized delivery across JMP
• Work closely with strategic customers, building long-lasting relationships and elevating JMP to trusted advisor status.
• Continually look for ways to turn projects or initial engagements into multi-year programs and strategic engagements.

What qualifies you for this opportunity?

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of industry experience in the automation industry
• Experience in Quoting, Sales and Customer Interaction is preferred.
• Understanding of Electrical & Pneumatic controls architecture.
• Successfully work with project teams and customers to design and estimate complete systems.
• Position requires approximately 25% travel within the US and Canada
• Experience with advanced applications that utilize the following technologies:
• Virtualization
• Distributed SCADA/HMI Architectures
• ISA101 High Performance HMI Systems
• Modernization/Migration Strategies
• Batching Applications (S88)
• PlantPAx and DCS Systems
• Network and Security
