Job Details

CARFAX Canada is excited to announce the position of Master Data Insights Analyst. In this role, you will work on-site from our London, ON office and report to the Director Data Insights and Governance.

The Master Data Insights Analyst will be primarily responsible for the evolution of our Enterprise Analytics Platform which is currently built upon the Microsoft Synapse platform.

The Master Data Insights Analyst will possess expert-level knowledge in data analysis, data modeling, and statistical analysis, and will be adept at translating data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead complex data analysis projects to solve business problems by utilizing advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets, with a focus on predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes.
  • Conduct advanced data analytics and reporting, presenting findings to senior management to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing quality control measures.
  • Stay current with the latest analytics trends, tools, and applications; advise on potential analytical approaches and best practices.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the analytics team’s capabilities.

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in data analyst capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree or Ph.D. in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a data analyst or business data analyst, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with common data science toolkits and databases, proficiency in statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.), and experience with machine learning frameworks.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to share recommendations and findings in a clear, concise manner to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to use data to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT design is a strong asset.
