Within CTS, the Skills Development – Advanced Manufacturing Training will focus on developing and delivering cutting-edge training programs to upskill employees and job seekers in advanced manufacturing techniques. Key areas include automation, robotics, CNC programming, and digital manufacturing. It will emphasize continuous skills development, technical competency, and adaptability to emerging technologies.
Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Corporate Training Solutions (CTS), the Manager, Skills Development is accountable for effectively operating programs, labs, classrooms and facilities by procuring and maintaining equipment to support training activities at the public training centre. The incumbent has direct oversight and responsibility for ensuring the training centre facilities comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and standards related to facilities operations.
In consultation with the Senior Manager, CTS and the CTS team, the incumbent is responsible for identifying, developing, marketing, staffing, supporting, and evaluating skills development training, programs, and services. The incumbent is responsible for the effective operation and delivery of contracts and training programs, working closely with the Senior Manager, Business Development Officers, Instructors, and Support staff at the public training Centre, as well as other college employees, external stakeholders, and partners.
Note: This position will be located at Fanshawe's Advanced Business & Industry Solutions at 2555 Bonder Road, London, Ontario.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Management, Advanced Manufacturing, Facility Management, Training & Facilitation or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of related, progressive work experience as a leader in training services and/or in facility operations and project management
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience in applying health and safety policies/procedures/legislation in a lab or facility environment is required at the point of hiring for this position
- Strong facilitation, training skills and experience in budget planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and project management
- Supervisory experience with strong leadership ability
- Excellent problem-solving, customer service and communication skills
- Mechanical, electrical, electronic or other trades certification/designations (i.e., construction and maintenance) are valuable in this role
