What you’ll be doing

The Scrum Master serves as both the Team Coach and a servant leader for Agile teams, playing a key role in facilitating team events and processes. They provide support to teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to ensure the delivery of value.

As a vital member of the Agile Team by organizing and conducting Agile-related ceremonies, the Scrum Master shares responsibility for meeting organizational delivery goals. Their duties include overseeing effective backlog management, facilitating story mapping, and assisting in the creation of User Stories and Acceptance Criteria to maximize value..

You will be responsible for

  • Participates in the working model of an Agile software development group.
  • Familiarity with core Agile events such as Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, testers, and other stakeholders.
  • Advocate for and practice continuous integration, continuous delivery.
  • Participates or facilitates testing efforts from QA/UAT; supports both BDD (behavior driven development) and TDD (test driven development) environments.
  • Stands up new Agile Teams when planning and organizing around value begins.
  • Provides feedback on the standard operating procedure for the Scrum Master(s); with an overarching goal to relentlessly improve.
  • Support the onboarding of new Scrum Masters, ensuring their implementation to the Agile Team(s) are successful.
  • Implement, coach, train and facilitate all Scrum Ceremonies.
  • Support conflict resolution between the Development / Business Analyst(s) and Product Owner when goals begin or are diverging.
  • Manage the velocity of each sprint.
  • Map tickets to sprints and execute sprint planning tasks.
  • Coaches or assists in defining user stories, acceptance criteria, testing expectations using scenario-oriented language.
  • Proactively explore industry trends and advancements in technology to identify new and leading solutions that will significantly impact the achievement of the business objectives.

What we need from you

  • University Degree/College Diploma in Business Analysis, Project Management/IT Project Management, or relevant education in Business
  • 1-3 years of broad experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • 1-3 years as a focused Scrum Master
  • Exposure and experience using project management software & standards – MS Project, Asana, Gantt Charts, Visio, etc.
  • Certification or training in SCRUM is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word).
  • Ability work in a Full-time environment
  • Be able to work a standard day time shift.
  • Comfortable to work in a (Remote/In Office/Hybrid) environment.
  • Adopt a continuing education philosophy.

 

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Previous hands on, intermediate-advanced working knowledge with JIRA
  • A creative problem solver that lets the team take centre-stage.
  • Ability to facilitate, lead without authority, coach, and mentor.
  • Has previously led and/or implemented Scrum Ceremonies.
  • Can lead, facilitate and improve (where necessary) the daily stand-up meeting.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across levels and functions internally and with third parties.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with ambiguous conditions, multiple cross-competing priorities, dealing with both internal and external customers, including cross functional teams.
