Business Intelligence Specialist - Decision Support & Clinical Business Intelligence

Reporting to Manager, Decision Support, the Business Intelligence Analyst plans, designs, develops, tests and maintains business intelligence (BI) products to support LHSC’s business intelligence platform, including tables, views, cubes and report delivery and infrastructure. This requires communication skills to determine the customer’s needs, extensive knowledge and experience in the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), very good knowledge of T-SQL, technical expertise to design and implement the solution while adhering to the SDLC, and precise attention to detail to test and validate the end product
The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist is the technical and operational lead for the BI team. This role is responsible for ensuring the business intelligence deployment is scalable, sustainable, and balances agile reporting needs with the standardization required to ensure a single source of the truth. The role will prioritize and manage reporting and analytics initiatives and will bring thought and leadership in the area of decision support, business intelligence and data warehousing systems.
In addition, the Specialist plans, designs, develops, tests and maintains complex BI products and services to support LHSC’s business intelligence platform, including tables, views, cubes, report delivery and infrastructure. The role is regarded as a high-level technical expert, overseeing the training of less experienced staff and planning the architecture for BI solutions that the team will implement.
Status: Regular Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $46.46 per hour - $58.07 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree, Master’s preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or as acceptable by the hospita
- Microsoft Certified Engineer – BI certification, SQL certification preferred
- 8-10 years with 3 years in technical/informal leadership role experiance required
- Advanced technical and programming skills (SQL, JavaScript, C#, MDX) with an understanding of relation databases
- Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and data warehousing (SSIS/AS/RS, Tableau)
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- Process improvement and design experience
- Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, consensus building and problem solving skills
- Change management and project management skills
- Ability to identify and manage risk
- Interpersonal skills with ability to build collaborative partnerships
- Proven resource planning, performance measurement and evaluation skills

Immunization Requirements:
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella(Chicken Pox).
- In addition candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
