Data Integration
The Data Integration Programming team works in partnership with the Clinical Application and Clinical Informatics teams that support the Electronic Patient Record (OneChart) for our 11 partner hospitals. Team members in ITS are required to navigate diverse corporate strategies and end user needs on a daily basis.
Accountable to the Manager, Data Integration, the Software Developer develops, codes, tests, debugs and supports new reporting/software or enhancements to existing reporting/software applications supported by the hospital, the city and the region.
The Software Developer will provide operational support to maintain service on current applications by working with other team members and customers to troubleshoot and resolve production problems. They may also be involved in design, development, evaluation and implementation of critical reporting used throughout the hospitals.
Rate of Pay: $38.80 per hour - $48.49 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a two-year diploma in Computer Science or related field
- One - three years of work experience in a technical/support role
- Demonstrated technical skills, troubleshooting and data analysis skills
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle processes and standards
- Excellent technical and programming skills with experience in one or more of SQL, Linux, Cerner CCL, Java, PHP
- Demonstrated understanding of large complex relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, MS*SQL,
- Good understanding of system administrator tasks to support applications, e.g. Linux, Windows Server
- Excellent computer skills with productivity tools (MS Office) and source code management (GIT)
- Experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium an asset
- Strong QA and testing methodology with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, team members, and non-technical staff
- Ability to change directions, priorities and focus from one project to another with minimal loss of productivity or quality
- Teamwork is essential to achieve the highest level of success, while you must be able to work independently, you must also be able to work as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service and meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Overtime and possible on-call coverage may be required
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
