Client Support Specialists are responsible for troubleshooting first level requests/calls from hospital staff and physicians. Calls are taken either directly by telephone or re-directed through a queue for on-site support. They resolve basic technical questions and work on hardware/software/network problems related to individual computer access. Client Support Specialists may also be responsible for monitoring the hospital’s Data Centre operations, to ensure availability, performance, security and reliability – including operating procedures, system backups/restores and system maintenance procedures.

Regular Full-Time

Rate of Pay:               $29.28 per hour - $36.62 per hour

Hours of Work:           37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a College diploma in Computer Science, Computer Networking, or Computer Specialist
• A+ Hardware Certificate, MCSE or CNA preferred
• Minimum (1) year recent, related experience in a high volume computer support environment
• Proficient knowledge of general hardware components, software applications, and networking tools
• Excellent customer service and personal interaction skills
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
• Proficient problem resolution and troubleshooting skills and aptitude
• Proficient technical and analystical skills
• Knowledge of health care specific computer applications
• Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

• Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
• Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
