Your Contribution
 

As an Environmental Technician/Technologist/Scientist you will work in collaboration with the Environmental team. 

 Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;
  • Assisting Project Managers, Engineers and Geoscientists in fulfilling multi-disciplinary environmental and hydrogeological related projects, including but not limited to Phase I/One and II/Two Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Excess Soil Management, Site Remediation and Hydrogeological Study;
  • Collecting field samples and/or preparing laboratory samples as directed;
  • Prepare detailed field notes and provide to supervisor;
  • Recording test data and preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor;
  • Maintaining records of data base, calibration certificates, equipment manuals and applicable standards;
  • Consistently executing prescribed technical procedures, safe work practices and work plans while completing field, laboratory, and office work;
  • Ensuring environmental management, planning and regulatory compliance;
  • Participating in project management, site and staff planning meetings;
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts;
  • Travelling between worksites locally and within the region for extended periods of time and occasionally across Canada;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Your Profile
 
  • University Degree or College Diploma/Certificate in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or an environmental technology-related field;
  • 2 to 3 year experience as an environmental consultant in environmental drilling and test pitting, collection of soil and groundwater samples would be an asset;
  • Reporting experience in Phase I/One and II/Two ESAs, Excess Soil Management would be an asset;
  • Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and field-testing procedures required;
  • Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations would be an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to complex topics and concepts, working independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently problem-solve, tackle new assignments and multi-task in a busy work environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform detailed analysis in various software programs;
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain Security Clearance;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety;
  • Attention to detail is a must for this position;
  • Drivers license and reliable vehicle.
