Structural Technologist
Location: [London, Ontario] Full-Time | Office, On-Site and Field Work | Travel Required
About the Role: We are seeking a motivated Structural Technologist with 2–3 years of experience in scaffolding, shoring, and temporary structural systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a hands-on approach to supporting both design and site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review AutoCAD drawings for scaffolding, shoring, and temporary support structures.
- Assist engineers with design calculations, layouts, and material take-offs.
- Conduct site visits for measurements, sign off inspections, and project coordination.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to ensure safe and efficient temporary structure solutions.
- Support field inspections and modifications as required during construction.
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and drawing records.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Structural Engineering Technology or related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience and preference for experience in scaffolding, shoring, or temporary works design.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (knowledge of Revit or Civil 3D is an asset).
- Strong understanding of construction methods and safety of Canadian/ Ontario standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with team members, clients and contractors.
- Valid G Driver’s License and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
